Melissa is a Tennessee born, Texas raised southern charmer. Her lineage traces back to Scottish, English, Norwegian, and Native American roots, a diverse tapestry that contributes to her unique and versatile persona. Her infectious smile, sharp wit, and diverse look enable her to portray a wide variety of characters. Whether portraying the epitome of grace and beauty or delving into the raw grit of life's hardships, she effortlessly transitions from one role to another.
One of her standout pieces, showcased on her website, is a poignant collection titled “3 Women/3 Eras”, where Melissa explores the depths of human emotion through characters spanning different time periods. From confronting the harsh realities of widowhood in 1980 to embodying the complexities of modern-day struggles, her performances resonate with authenticity and depth.
Melissa recently appeared as the leading lady in the music video: “Let It Out” by L.A. Edwards. This music was featured on the multi award-winning Paramount series “Yellowstone”.
Throughout her career, Melissa has honed her skills under the guidance of esteemed coaches and casting directors. She has trained with Wendy Pennington, Tulsa King (owner Improv Dallas), and Kina Bale-Reed (casting director/owner of Cast-O-Matic). She regularly trains with her mentor, notable coach, Lar Park Lincoln (Knots Landing, Beverly Hills 90210), and the owner of Actors Audition Studios.
Rooted in her upbringing amidst a large extended family, Melissa finds inspiration in the colorful tapestry of familial bonds. Melissa credits this collection of parents, stepparents, brothers, and sisters, as a great source of comedic antics for a never ending-treasure trove of delightful monologue material!
Melissa is married to her wife, Liz, and has one daughter, poet Peyton Scott. Their love and support serve as the cornerstone of her journey, propelling her forward as she continues to make her mark in the world of entertainment. Between acting gigs Melissa can be found wrapped in the paws of her multiple cats and dogs, Dolly Parton, June Carter, Spidey, and Beensy.
